An alternative version of the latest album by my project Kowalski Room.
The original version is available on double CD and name-your-price download at kowalskiroom.bandcamp.com/album/echoes-in-landscapes

These are mixes that will be available from other online distributors such as Spotify and the like, from 2 May 2021 onwards. Each track is separate rather than segued and mixed and mastered slightly differently from the original.

Track 4, The Turning Tide (part IV), is included here as an extra but is missing from the Spotify version. This is because the other online stores take a dim view of tracks that are simply layers of looped field recordings. Their loss! What you get on this track is the full phasing effect. The two loops of high tide waves crashing start off in sync but drift apart until they cycle all the way through to be back in sync at the very end.

The cover art features the images used on the inside of the double CD version of the original album.

The music of Kowalski Room is created using layers of virtual tape loops, in a similar way to It's Gonna Rain by Steve Reich. Two loops of the same sound loop but drift out of sync creating new motifs and atmospheres.
